Responsibilities


Budget: Participate in planning and budgeting processes, provide strategic budget oversight for areas within the web services including shared software list.


Compliance: In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to web services and higher education. Advise college on compliant web practices in site design, structure, security, privacy, analytics, accessibility, and universal design.


Communication: Use strong written and oral communication skills to translate complex technical information into usable, easy-to-follow responses and/or instructions. Build consensus, provide facilitation and conflict management,


Contracts: Create proposals, bid specifications, establish technology sourcing strategies and negotiated agreements with technology providers. Review contracts ensuring agreements align with district protocols and technology standards. Create workflows to facilitate information gathering for vetting potential purchases.


Development: Oversee and assist with operations, infrastructure, application development, information security, and IT controls implementation. Provide assessments, testing, optimizations and custom configurations.

Graphic & UX Designer: Use Adobe Creative Suite for graphic design in print, web and user interfaces. Responsibilities

ERP Support: Assisted the ERP (Ellucian Banner) Project Manager to maintain the Banner self-service and web products and continuously improve to better serve faculty, staff and students.


Instructional Designer: Implement distance education and technology-related initiatives and programs. Participate in instructional design professional development, provide instructional design training and project management for web-enhanced, hybrid, and fully online courses.


LMS Administrator: Configures, administers, maintains, updates, and document the College’s LMS (Moodle) environment. Collaborates with, consult, and advises instructional designers, faculty, and other key stakeholders of the LMS environment to support the development and integration of features and customizations.


System Administration: Administered Windows and Unix web servers, including account creation, back-ups, data recovery site, search engines, logs, usage statistics and documentation


User Support: Provided support, lead training and developed documentation for web applications, systems and servers.


Web Development: Designed and developed clean, optimized, college and departmental web pages and/or cross-platform database driven web applications.


 

Accomplishments

Enterprise Application Implementation

Lead implementations of Online Applications, Sharepoint Portal, Forms & Surveys, Helpdesk, Degree Audit, Emergency Notifications,  Digital Signage, Content Management System (CMS), Learning Management System (LMS), Single-Sign-On (SSO), Google Apps for Education (student email), Employee Email/Sharepoint to the cloud (0365), Employee Evaluation, Comprehensive Search Solutions, Room Scheduling & Calendaring, Analytics and Workflows.


Custom Application Development

Developed a Laravel workshop scheduling and registration system, Incident management system, faculty profile and office hours web application, address book and label creation web application, award certificate social network facebook application, customize t-shirt designer on the Zazzle API, natural language processing tech plan parser, released an open source form solution and built a statewide Community College site indexing all 114 colleges for researching technology solutions. Most recently released a Laravel, Python, Raspberry PI and MQTT application called SkinnyPi.


Graphic Design, Video Production and 3d Printing

Designed over one hundred vector files available for sale on microstock websites. Designed a series of stickers for parties and holidays that I had mass produced overseas.  Constantly creating logos, business cards, invitations, ads, banners, and collages. Experience in video production, sound, lighting and adobe premiere movie editing. Lead the creation of the first 3d articulated model.


Website Design

Worked with the SMCCCD’s three colleges in multiple redesigns, customizations, integration projects resulting in award-winning websites.  Created dozens of college and business websites using the current web technologies starting from basic HTML to database-driven asp sites and evolved to CSS and PHP MVC frameworks.  Currently an expert in WordPress and Laravel.
